Biratnagar . Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has said that 60,000 government employees are ready for their adjustment.
Talking to the media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, Minister Pandit said that around 70 per cent of the government employees would be deputed in the local levels. The date for the adjustment is fixed till January 16 and the officials disobeying to join the deputed stations within 21 days would be sacked, he claimed.
Saying that there are a total of 138,000 posts for officials in all three layers of the government, Minister Pandit added that insufficient officials would be recruited afterwards based on the shortcut ways from the federal Public Service Commission (PSC).
According to Minister Pandit, career path for the government employees including upgradation, additional grade and the entire payment for the officials in the post-retirement period are the responsibilities of the federal government.
He also shared that the required human resources for the province and the local levels would be recruited from the federal PSC until the province public service commission was constituted. “The bill on the constitution of the province public service commission would be tabled in the ongoing federal House session,” Pandit added.
The government unveiled the plan for government officials’ adjustment through ordinance meant for the successful implementation of the federalism, he reasoned.
Stating that the federal government has no capacity to reimburse the amount needed for the voluntary retirement service (VRS) of the employees as unveiled by the erstwhile government. Once taking oath, the government officials should serve the people by fulfilling their responsibilities, he said.
