Kathmandu, Aug 23 : In a bid to revamp the party’s organizational structure in tune with the federal setups, the main opposition Nepali Congress has formed a statute amendment drafting committee.
In this connection, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has constituted a 11-member statute amendment drafting committee today as per the Clause 24 (8) of NC Statute (Amended and Revised)-2017.
It may be noted that the party’s central committee meeting held on last April 29 had decided to form the statute amendment drafting committee to review and recommend the areas for amendments in the main charter of the party.
The committee headed by party general-secretary comprises central committee members, namely Dr Minendra Rijal, Farmullah Mansoor, Mahalaxmi Upadhyay ‘Dina’, Man Bahadur Biswokarma, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Nabindra Raj Joshi, Seeta Gurung, Pradeep Poudel and Ramesh Lekhak.
