Cancer survivor child gets support

Kathmandu, Sept 20 : Children of Kavya School based in New Baneswor, Kathmandu have raised fund to support to the treatment of eight-year-old cancer survivor child Himal Pandey.

Pandey hailing from Ranwabeshi rural municipality-4, Thumre, Dharapani is undergoing treatment of blood cancer (second phase) at Kanti Child Hospital.
At a programme organized on Wednesday, school’s founder Principal Nawaraj Baskota and child leader Anubhav Regmi jointly handed over the amount of Rs 25,000 to the parents of Pandey.
The school children provided the money from the fund generated from their birthday celebrations. The support amount also includes contribution from Bishnu Baskota Foundation and school family members.
Scout senior teacher Balaram Pyasi took the initiative to garner financial support after financial crisis was likely to affect the treatment of ailing child Pandey.
Child’s parents, Dilliram Pandey and Gyan Kumari Pandey, had expressed their gratefulness to the school family for their generous support.
